Vehicle safety recalls are repaired free of charge by the manufacturer’s dealers. Look up your vehicle by its 17-character VIN on the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration site: nhtsa.gov/recalls. Tires, car seats and some equipment can also be checked there.
